Precautions:care should be taken in alcoholic patients or those with pre-existing liver disease who require regular monitoring during therapy., contra-indicated in patients with jaundice. A self-limiting hyperbilirubinaemia may occur the first 2 or 3 weeks of ttt.
Dosage.ttt of the sputum positive T.B. the following suggested method can be used : ( the total duration of therapy 9 monthes ) : 1 ( Rifamycin 450 mg+isoniazide300 mg+ethambutol 1200 mg ) for 2 months 2 ( Rifamycin 450mg+isoniazide 300mg) for 7 months.
