Amikacin used for G-ve organisms resistant to Gentamycin,& intrathecal in meningitis
Interaction loss of activity between amikacin and penicillins and Cephalosporins , incompatibility with amphotricin, chlorothiazide, Heparin calcium, nitrofurantoin, phenytion,thiopentone,warfarin, K chloride, vitamin B-complex, and vit.C
Dosage:15mg/kg./day divided into 2 doses via i.m. or i.v. drip.
