Uses: given by inhalation for the induction and maintenance of general anaesthesia.
Adverse Effects:as with other halogenated anaesthetics it cause cardiorespiratory depression, hypotension., the effects of sevoflurane on heart rate seen at higher concentrations and it appears to have little effect on heart rhythm in comparison to other halogenated anaesthetics
Dosage: given using a calibrated vaporiser. For induction, it is given in concentrations of up to 5% v/v in adults, with oxygen or a mixture of oxygen and nitrous oxide, Maintenance of anaesthesia is achieved with 0.5 to 3% v/v with or without nitrous oxide
