what medicine Nyrin 50؟

Mechansim:an antidote to folic acid antagonists, e.g. methotrexate , which block the conversion of folic acid to tetrahydrofolate by binding the enzyme dihydrofolate reductase,so reduce their haematological toxicities
Uses: to reduce the toxicity of the methotrexate ,Calcium folinate rescue is necessary when methotrexate is given at Doses exceeding 500 mg/m2 and should be considered with methotrexate Doses of 100 to 500 mg/m2.
Dosage: 15 mg folinic acid , given 12 to 24 hours after the beginning of methotrexate infusion. The same dose is given every 6 hours for 24 hours, initiall b intramuscular injection or intravenous injection or infusion.
